Book Discussion by Zoom and in-person discussions on the last Thursday of each month at 11:30AM. Currently, we are meet by at member’s homes to discuss and share titles of books we are enjoying interspersed by specific book discussions.
Bridge: Meets 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 1PM. We are always looking for new members who enjoy and continue to learn about this game.
Creative Reflective Memoir Writing: Meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 10AM for a maximum of 2 hours. This is a small joint group (West Vancouver – North Vancouver) of dedicated writers keen to improve their skills and share their stories publicly and privately. With time a bond of trust and confidentiality is formed. Leadership is shared. Keeping the group small is important because story sharing and comments take time.
International Studies: This joint North and West Vancouver group shares feature articles and reading or viewing recommendations on global issues. They meet to discuss them the 3rd Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 PM (no meeting in July and August).
Meetings are held via ZOOM in September, October, January, February, April and May and IN-PERSON in November, March and June. Locations are announced periodically.
Community Issues: This joint North and West Vancouver group currently meets in -person on the 3rd Friday of each month at 1:30PM in members’ homes. The group shares current local, provincial and national Advocacy Issues to take understanding to a deeper level and at times, enjoys a speaker on one or more current issues. Members of this group often take issues back to home clubs for local community action including Community Forums.
Mah Jong: A fun way to meet new CFUW friends. Welcome to past members, new members and those wanting to learn to play. The group meets in members’ homes, once a month, on the 3rd Wednesday, in the afternoon. For new players, an informal tutorial will be arranged.
Meander and Munch: Meander and Munch is a fluid group that goes on excursions with lunch based on member proposals.
Walking group: The walking group meets weekly year-round, rain or shine, on Tuesday mornings at 10AM. Walks are about an hour, and then the group convenes for coffee. A list of the locations and descriptions of upcoming walks is sent out, at the beginning of the month.
Happy Hour With Friends: This group meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 4:00-6:00PM at a North Shore location that has a happy hour menu for all. A way to get to know members and visit different locations in our community.
